Kevätkokous iskee päälle jo ensi tiistaina 7.3. Siellä käymme läpi syksyn tapahtumia, mutta myös potkimme pois muutamat liiallisesti ikääntyneet jäsenemme. Kevätkokouksessa siis hallitukseen valitaan kolme uutta jäsentä, kaksi ensimmäisen vuoden opiskelijaa ja yksi toisen vuoden opiskelija.
Miksi siis hakea OPKH:n?
Ressussa hallituksemme on todella aktiivinen, ja se on mukana monissa koulun hallinnollisissa elimissä. Meillä on siis oikeasti valtaa. Jos intohimosi on vaikuttaa ja tutustua vaikuttamisen maailmaan, tämä on mahdollisuutesi siihen. Hallituksessa pääset itse kehittämään kouluamme, RESSUA, sellaiseksi kuin siitä visioit. Hallitus kyllä työllistää: Aina venyvät kokoukset, vastuualueet, työryhmät... Mutta voi niitä onnistumisen iloja, kyllä tämä paljon antaa. Antaa kaiken sen henkisen pääoman lisäksi mm. myös hyvää profittia. Työnantajat tykkää.
Hallitustoiminta on hauskaa. Porukka on mitä loistavin. Monet teistä näkevät vain tapahtumissamme huolellisesti hiotun ulkokuoren ja stressaantuneet järjestäjät, mutta kulissien takana sen joulupuun rakentaminen oli dänk (dänk, mutta työmaa). Toimimme tiiminä, ja tässä tiimissä jokainen voi huoletta toimia omana uniikkina hallituslaisenaan.

Jos nyt luettuasi tämän olet vielä kahden vaiheilla, pitäisikö juuri sinun hakea, niin ei voi kuin vain lämpimästi huutaa, että kyllä pitäisi! Asettukaa ehdolle, kokeilkaa mahdollisuuksianne. Tämä on niin paljon enemmän kuin vain opiskelijakunnan hallitus. Much love xoxo Janina

The spring meet is arriving quickly! On Tuesday the 4th of March we will go through the events of last autumn, and kick out some of our members that are a bit too elderly. At the spring meet the student body will vote for three new members to replace the third years that have left the student board. Two first year students and one second year student will be elected.
So why apply? The student board in Ressu is very active, and it participates in most of the administrative organs in the school. We are not powerless. If you have a passion for influencing the things around you, or if you just want to get started on the road to becoming someone who can influence their surroundings: this is your chance! In the OPKH you can develop our school, you can develop RESSU according to your vision. The board will keep you occupied, make no mistake: meetings that stretch long into afternoons, ambiguous responsibility areas and difficult task groups. However, the feeling of a difficult project brought to its termination is liberating to say the least and extremely exhilarating to be accurate. You can also make some profit out of this! Now you can't embezzle OPKH funds, but this is a valid entry in your CV that your future employers will look at positively.
Working with the board is also fun! The group is amazing, so it's not only the gray and dreary organizational work that we do. At our events most of you only see the meticulously smoothed surface and the stressed out organizers, but behind the scenes it's quite dank. Building the christmas tree was dank. A "worksite" but dank. We work as a team, and in this team everyone can freely be a unique board member!
Our current board answers the question as follows:

"You will (maybe) get to shoot the bull in the school radio"
"It develops a lot of social skills and gives you tools for the future"

If, after reading this, you are still unsure about applying, I can't do anything but warmly yell at you to DO IT. Run for "office" and try your chances for this is so much more than just the student board! Much love xoxo Miko&Janina
